at 8:10 AM, Tuesday August 3, 2021 EDT Facing offir's awkward 4bet preflop you have to choose between a shove/fold. Flat calling doesn't make much sense. Given the action I lean towards a shove. Phil capped his range by open/flatting. Offir is an insane lunatic who can do anything anytime with any two cards. Also he is capped because he flatted Phil's original open. Having the ace blocker here is huge, because it removes some combinations of AA that offir could be trapping with. All this put together demands a shove. Folding is fine if offir has been playing tight this session or you feel he's strong for some other reason.
Calling is horrible most of all because Phil is very incentivized to call with a wide range given he's paying 2600 to get into a pot of 14k. I also don't like your donk lead postflop. Phil's raise is even worse. In almost all situations you want to check to the aggressor and give them a chance to continue bluffing with their trash hands. |
