Is it just me, or does it seem that if you're lets say ranked 1501st, and you're betting againts someone who's ranked in the top 300's the cards always seem to fall in their favor.
Just wondering? |

at 9:59 AM, Thursday December 13, 2007 EST Thats exactly how this site is set up. Watch other tables and you'll see it happens a majority of the time (say about 90%).

at 11:28 AM, Thursday December 13, 2007 EST I think that is nonsense. I've been playing here for a few months and had my fair share of bad beats and suck outs regardless of ranking. I have also sucked out big time against player with much higher ranks.
Just cause you've had a couple of bad beats doesn't mean the game favours rank. The dealer is a bit shit though. Two scenarios seem to crop up way to frequently. 1 flushes come up way too often, and 2 multiple players get pocket pairs at the same time. Another thing I notice is that I cannot make my straight draws very often even with favourable flops. |

at 2:42 PM, Friday December 14, 2007 EST Well, a lot of people don't know that if you donate to the site. You get an adjustment to your luck modifier. Not a big one, but over the course of a month it adds up.
good luck! |

at 6:36 PM, Monday December 17, 2007 EST why would ryan do this ?
--- no reason why would he NOT do this ? --- it is easier to set up random cards than non-random --- poker is, and has been for a very long time, a very popular game --- making it harder for new players to succeed would not encourage them to stay --- he gets no benefit in favoring some players than others . it's poker. it's random. skill is a component, but luck is a very large part of this game. |

at 6:01 AM, Tuesday December 18, 2007 EST 1. Yes ive noticed that higher ranked players tend to win against me more than lower. But it is actually obvious that better players will play less hands , or fold more quickly, or bluff more wisely. They are better players!
If you believe anything else youre subject to the sort of mindset that will lose you more chips. 2. Ive not noticed any change in luck since donating... 3. The randomness does seem odd. The board pairs on the flop an amazing amount... and pocket cards seem to sort of make their way around the table ... if you know what i mean. Coure maybe thats MY superstition ... ;) |

at 8:23 PM, Tuesday December 18, 2007 EST Gpokr has WAY to many crazy flops/hands/turns/rivers to be a random game.
That's my oppinion. A random function for the cards looks the most logical, though i think there are some extra's in the AJAX-code that real life poker hasn't got. |

at 9:59 AM, Wednesday December 19, 2007 EST 1.there are about 30 tables here, with 0ne hand per minute. Thats 1800 hands played per hour, so there has too be some fucked up hands in there.
2. a computer is unable to generate true random numbers, so maybe thats part of the problem |

So please leave out that sort of "explanation" of ur looses... cAPS's post is totally right : 1., 2. and 3. (with the "seem" word and his "superstition" conclusion..) |
