People can disagree with me on this, but there is no way a human dealer would shovel out the wierd hands that come up on Gpokr. So if you're trying to improve your poker game, this is not the site for you. If you want a combination of poker and lottery, this is great fun. Maybe rename the site to Gpokery.

Because Gpokr operates like a psuedo lottery, people always stay in for the river. If I had a lottery ticket, I would want to see all 7 numbers. Gpokr is no different. Either that, or the fold button is not prominent enough. Maybe program it red and to glow in the dark, with a message: if in doubt, press here." The other thing is the month-long format. For God's sake, who wants to do anything competetively for a whole month. Never heard of a month-long golf tournament or spelling bee. What gives? And lastly, the fact that there is no penalty for refill, means people who play Gpokr will never buckle down. I have over 200 refills this month. When you start out with 1500 chips, its nearly impossible to move up without giving into the lottery mentality of Gpokr. In any tournament, the playing field starts out level, and when you're done with your chips, spell a word wrong and fail to make the golf cut, you're out. No such spankings on Gpokr. Anyway, Gpokr is far from perfect, but there are alot of nice people and fun to be had. You just have to overlook the wierd crap--in the same way you do when spending the holidays with your family. Don't get me started on Jack Ramsland. lol. |
