at 3:27 PM, Friday December 5, 2008 EST If you are looking for free sites then this is probably the best one. It has some great people, and the monthly competition makes it different from other sites.
I play on poker stars and I suppose it offers other games like omaha and stud, but there seems to be no point in playing for free. |

gpokr would be a lot better if some of the basics were actually within the rules i.e. the bullshit broken blinds |

at 9:48 AM, Saturday December 6, 2008 EST I'm sure Jules has said the blind problem is those new players sitting in to the left of the dealer are forcing the big blind to still pay twice. So the new change hasn't sorted that out.

at 10:02 AM, Saturday December 6, 2008 EST Hi Ryan, the problem with the blinds is that if you are sitting in the Big Blind and have just paid for that when a new player joins the table to the BB's right the BB gets to pay again. That is wrong, if a new player joins the table to the BBs right on the next deal the BB should skip the previous BB and move to the next player on his left.
Also, when you sit at a new table you should have the option to pay a BB and recieve cards or wait until the actual BB rotates around to your seat position. In heads up play the blinds are the wrong way round. Apart from the blinds the site needs a section that clearly states the rules for gpokr. For example; No loaning, giving or recieving of chips. No abusive talk across the tables, on player notes or on the forum. No porno avatars etc. As things stand players are arbitarily punished from time to time for loaning or transferring chips but there is no information to say that it is expressly disallowed. Without a page stating the rules it is somewhat absurd to occasionally punish someone whilst many others continue to loan or borrow and stay under the radar and remain unpunished. Some player loan continually, have done for months and continue to do so. They know who they are, you know who they are but nothing happens. |
