The problem advisors seem to face is the need to justify their actions. There should be no such need.
I suggest you modify the rules to make penalties clear and absolute. Underline that action applies to the balance of the month in question..no comebacks, no reversal, no discussion. Under that regime, for example, sorryaboutit would probably lose his chat at some stage every month, but no chorus of his mates would put an advisor like jules in the invidious position of making a contrary judgement. Ryan, you should make it clear that you focus on site improvement (technical) and you've delegated behavioural stuff to the Advisor team. Get one of them to field non technical emails, and to keep the rest of us updated, in general terms, on rules issues on the advisor blog (an underutilised resource). That spokesperson, or indeed all Advisors, should also be able to delete offensive posts from the forum , or profiles. That's what I mean by "tools to do the job". |
