.In which case congrats? are you posting on forums cuz you won a hand? I am confused because you bet 1/4 your stack preflop with mid pair and then all in on med set. That is notin to be proud of but i will stay stick to congrats. |

at 1:57 AM, Sunday December 6, 2009 EST The "weep" here shouldn't be about the cards but about the terrible quality of the callers. You should thus be happy because 9 out of 10 times they are just donating their chips to you.
I'm wheeping because i fail to take such morons into account and don't act accordingly. |

at 2:35 PM, Sunday December 6, 2009 EST fnf, i think you played the hand well, getting your whole stack in on the flop when in front by a long way was a good play. You picked up 2 idiot calls and the 88 sucked out on the t & r.
WTF is Gurgi going on about? I see no reason to criticize fnf's play of this hand. |

at 10:55 AM, Monday December 7, 2009 EST dave, why didn't you just call Vince's river bet? Surely you felt ahead in the hand and knew that the only way Vince would call was if he had a better hand.

at 5:11 PM, Tuesday December 8, 2009 EST also, this is why you raise preflop with kings. if you let people come in with raggedy-ass hands for cheap, don't be surprised when after 5 cards they've drawn out on you.

at 12:00 PM, Wednesday December 9, 2009 EST Dave, you posted the hand on a public forum so you should expect, even welcome, some criticism of the play.
It looks like you and Vince are playing heads up and if that's the case I don't mind the pre-flop limp. It gives Vince the chance to raise opening the door for a re-raise and disguises the strength of you hand. So pre-flop all is okay. It's the post flop play that looks dodgy. Vince's check-raise on the flop should have set off major alarm bells. What did the check-raise make you think at that stage? I guess the turn was uneventful and you can't be criticised for heeding the warning and checking the turn. It's your play on the river that appears to be so wrong. Vince bets 55k and you come over the top with an all in! Why did you do that? What did you think Vince would do? He has only two choices, he will fold an inferior hand and he will call with the nuts. The all in achieves absolutely nothing because if you are ahead you won't get a call and if you're not ahead you'll lose a lot of chips. WTF were you thinking? What hands did you put Vince on to think he'd call that bet and lose? |
