I play a hell of a lot of live poker as well as cash online, but I never ever see the amount of suckouts in live games.

Now I know the main reason is due to people in live games wont be calling all ins with bottom pair and gutshots and hitting, but every other hand here, someone hits a 2 or 3 outer.

I guess if people only played premium hands this would be different, but its almost impossible without being extremely lucky to get out from the lower tables. If i push with the best hand preflop it rarely holds up. I'm roughly 60-40 to win these and probably win about 30-40% of the time.

Futhermore, you play at 100/200 and people just call your raises with anything. E.g Raise to 1400 with AK (7 times BB) and i got called by J5, he wins pot. Next hand, pocket 7's raise to 1800 (9 x BB), he calls with J4 and hits 2 pair..

While I should probably vary my game and start flat calling a lot more, and yes I know its a free poker site, but the first hand im 60-40 and 2nd hand probably 70-30, I shouldnt be consistantly losing both. My big pocket pairs don't often hold up even against just one caller.

I don't know if its me getting paranoid, but if this shit happened in real life, there would be a lot less people playing poker as it's their money that is being risked with these fake odds.

live poker i wouldn't bet 1k on a 3/2 but here i lose nothing by betting 20k its only those who really care about the virtual money , medals and have the time would wait for a good hand to play.
I come to this site to pass some of my free time and i really don't wanna wait 15-20mins for two high cards b4 calling so i'd rather take my chances with what i have.

Thfc, If you get in a 60-40 race you will win approx 60%.

The only way this would be untrue is:

A: If your sample size is too small.
B: If your math was wrong in the first place.

AK v J5 = 67% v 33% pre flop
77 v J4 = 70% v 30% pre flop

So the math is good, but the sample size is ridiculously small.

Rattus, I agree with what you are saying, but it happens more than it doesn't.

Thfc, i was playing a live tourney last week, had made the final table and was 2nd in chips with only 4 players remaining.

I got dealt Ac3c in the SB.

Pre-flop it went: UTG Folds, Button Calls (chip leader), SB (me) Calls, BB Checks.

Flops Ad, 8c, 2s.

I check top pair, BB checks, Button chcks.
Clearly I feel that my weak Ace is good at this stage.

Turn brings a 7h so i bet half the pot with my paired Ace.

BB folds and after a pregnant pause the Button shoves all in. I had been playing against him for hours and seen him make these intimidating moves again and again. I knew he had mis-read my hand, he felt sure that I had no Ace and I knew he'd got his read badly wrong so I snap called.

Button turns over 9h9d, you should've seen his face when I showed the Ace and he realised his huge mistake.

Next moment the dealer shows the river - 9c

Chip leader hits a 2 outer to make set on the river. Only 4.5% chance of that.

If any of the 95.5% chances had been the river I would've been a huge chip leader with a 1st place finish very likely.

I was righteously very pissed off. I read my opponent correctly, I'd played pre-flop and the flop in a way that made him mis-read me. The tourney was all but in the bag then BAM a 2 outer on the river stacked me.

SHIT HAPPENS IN POKER, WHETHER LIVE, ONLINE OR AT THIS BS FREEBEE SITE. THAT'S THE NATURE OF THE GAME AND WE ALL GOTTA LIVE WITH IT.

If you keep getting your chips in with the best hand your downswing will come to an end and chips will come your way eventually.

Rattus, thats really unlucky and im not denying that it does happen in live poker as well. For example, I was playing in the final table of a $50 freezeout, 31 runners. I had about 40% of all chips with 8 players left.

Im in the BB, UTG limps, folded round to me, I got Ac10c, I raise to 3 x BB. He calls. Flop comes As 8h 8c.

This guy is the same guy I played 2 days before with and he came third when I won it so he's no fish. What would he limp in with UTG at an 8 seater final table?

What would you do?

Anyway, I check. I've hit 2 pair but he may have a better kicker, it's unlikely he has hit an 8. Why would he call with A8?

He pushes all in for about 15% of my stack. I think and wonder for a bit, end up calling and he's got pocket 7's. He mustve put me on KQ or something. Anyway, it holds up, and I become bigger stack, but I actually didnt expect him to hit a FH, unlike on this game.
