could be possible with freerolls but not with paid tourneys.. if you paid your starting $$ you can doe whatever you want even its staying away.. simply cos you paid to enter.

and its also what players do on other pokersites (pkr,pokerstars etc) its a strategy: when youre having a stack big enough you can sit out.
or when having a small stack and you just wait for better cards, thats merely the same..
you paid your entree fee so youre free to play (or not)

when you have a player who is away at your table you should play him out. If youre out before the awayer, its most likely your fault or just a bad beat.

mmmmmmm tough call, if this site was like a real game maybe, but I believe after a certain amount of hands, awayers should play blinds every hand they are away. I am sure in a real tourney the game would be cancelled if there was a table of 9 and 5 or 6 were away.

Almost all real online poker sites allow away players to remain at the table where they auto-fold unless all-in.

I know of one site that removes players if they are away for too long, I think it's about five orbits and they're out.

@Insane, forcing awayers to pay extra blinds is ridiculous as it then forces the remaining players to fight over grossly inflated pots.

Live players should simply raise the awayers blinds at every opportunity even to the point where the live players collude and take it in turns to steal the awayers blinds until they're gone.

@LBlack, if you can't beat an away player....well...enough said.

First, lemme mention the site where this does occur. It's at pureplay.com; I've personally have played it and have witnessed it. First place there, his comp booted him and when he got back to find out he was out of the tourney....and paid REAL CASH for.

To mashurujo(sorry if i spelled it wrong), go to that site and sit out of a tourney for fake chippies and you tell me.

To Rattus or whoever you may be, I am just sick and tired of seeing it. Todays tourney again no exception, 2 awayers got paid again today and one wasnt there the whole time.

I can understand if you played awhile then had to go due to other things but NOT to join and not play one hand.

Also, I do not think it would be right if any of us "people who play on a regular basis" should have to deal with it.

Hi all, maybe its a good idea if you can sign out of a tour. I joined once but then realized i had to do something else.
And I joined once but didnt look at the time , i put the alarmclock went too sleep and went all in first hand to go back too bed.

Yes Stacey I agree with a pull out of tourney option even after tourney has started, that would be great, cause there are alot of people who play on gpokr from work (what a wonderful job they all have :o)) and then they are actually called away to work and alot would like to pull out instead of being an awayer that they themselves object to.

Only problem I see with 5 hands is that occasionally, the LAG monster get's you and it is pretty easy to miss 5 hands during a restart or relogin.

So might I suggest 2 or 3 table moves and no bets as a bette criteria.
