Is it proper to say:
1. "I drank four Jacks and coke" or 2 "I drank four Jack and cokes". I'm talking drinks not cards you noobs. |

at 4:41 AM, Thursday March 17, 2011 EDT The object is singular, albeit of a composite form and is "Jack and Coke" therefore, it is this that needs pluralising, ergo "Jack and Cokes".
There are nuances to this formula, like the phrase "Son-in-law" would become "Sons-in-law", however, this is due to the son being the the only component of the object and the "in-law" is purely describing the object. |
