at 7:53 AM, Thursday January 12, 2012 EST chances of hitting a pocket pair = 1/17 (3 out of 51)
so if 4 people sit at a table, in roughly 1/80000 of the hands will everyone have a pocket pair this isn't the exact maths but the order of magnitude is correct. And with 7 players sitting, the chances of 4 people having pocket pairs also increases significantly compared to only 4 players. Of course odds are way lower if you want the odds for specific pocket pairs like this example of AA KK QQ JJ. I'm not saying there is nothign wrong with the random dealing of the cards. It could be true. I'm just saying that odds for some things are not zero and so they happen once in a while. We have had similar discussions on Kdice about people losing 10 8v8 attacks in a row. Well if you do the maths, it's indeed an unlikely event but also not impossible given the huge amount of rolls that are made each day. |
