Inconsistent page data

This site has obvious database transaction consistency issues.

You can refresh any thread on this forum and each time you'll see something different. One time it will have a few comments then the next time it will have zero then the next time it will have a different number of comments then it will have zero comments again. I've noticed this same problem on the leaderboard and personal profiles and other pages where details can change wildly between page refreshes.

Since I'm seeing Tomcat errors frequently it's safe to assume you have built everything in Java.

So you're probably serving web requests using a pool of worker threads and each has its own database transaction or session. Depending on which API you're using, your sessions probably are caching database entities when they shouldn't be. A good quick fix for now is just to make sure to fully close each transaction after each web request is processed, even if you're only doing a read database operations for that request. Then after that's implemented obviously a full restart would be necessary to clear out any stale caches.

If you need help I'd be happy to look at your code, I'm something of a programmer myself.

Cheers and thanks for making this site!

I have a couple load balanced tomcat servers each with their own web page cache. So one server is caching an older version than the other. The cache is currently per server. I still need to move this cache to redis so it can be shared.

Maybe you should just replace the hamster that powers the treadmill that powers the servers.
