RYAN - Your poor site maintenance is getting rather irksome. Please show your discernment and care for the users, by giving a full and frank response.

Ryan, it's becoming rather tedious and somewhat exacerbating, as to how you seemingly have persistent issues regarding the hosting of a site with the now customary technical flaws.

What exactly is the problem with your site? Do you not have the technical knowledge to rectify the fundamental issues that you seem to ignore. If not, then is it not therefore advisable to seek counsel from a more erudite authority?

What is with the lag? Why can you not resolve it? Are you paying for a very cheap server, because if you're not then someone is indubitably laughing at you all the way to the bank.

Having just playing in a tournament, it now seems ostensible that I have wasted my time and 10k in chips (though the latter less important than the former) almost exclusively due to lag.....what a complete waste of time that tournament was......the blame can surely only be put firmly on your door step Ryan.

There are several players here who have signed up for tournaments only for them to fail to take place meaning the players lose their entry fee in chips and, yet again, wasting their time waiting for it to commence.

A few weeks ago, the Vrijdag Vijfs never started and people lost their chips and time. Several of us spoke of this on the forum, as have others in conjunction with other tournaments, yet not only do the issues never get resolved, you don't seem to have the common decency to respond in any constructive way.

It is this benighted and feckless attitude that makes me feel less and less like spending my free time on this technically substandard web site.

Will you display the appropriate decorum to this post and make a comprehensive response? Or will you show your increasingly insouciant, impervious attitude towards your clients?

Please consider the satisfaction and enjoyment of your client base, and please reply with candor and diligence before making your considered and arrant response.

Well obviously I'm not Ryan but I'd like to say something anyway.

GPokr is a free site. Playing here doesn't cost you anything except for time. Membership and donations can't be counted cause they're both voluntary. It's free so we can't really demand a faster server because that's NOT free. Of course in some sense it's in Ryan's best interest to improve his services, thus increasing the overall satisfiability and thus persuading more people to play and donate. Bad services<=>less players<=>less payers.

Oh and about tournies... They're still quite new. Ryan can't work on the bugs 24/7. I'm sure he knows about them though.

My point? Stop complaining. Yes, it does make sense to point out the flaws in the system but once is enough.

Shed honey....only 5% of the community understood what you said with out having to google every word.

I get frustrated here too, the lag outs in the middle of a hand...I lost 65k becasue it wouldnt let me call the next bet, not to mention the 180k I would have one. I've also payed and couldnt play in atleast 10 tournaments.

I like it here, mostly the people, but it would be nice to hear from Ryan though about the issues!

Yeah would be great to see more forum response from Ryan, at the moment he seems disconnected to the point of autism regarding the site.

Also I didn't understand any of what shed said, what does lag mean?

I am in complete agreement with the verbiose yet eloquent use of english by "the shed". In an attempt to disagree with danny _ DCB I want to point out that those banners and adds on top and side of the page are a revenue source for Ryan. The higher the traffic the better his return from the sale of ad space. It is not unreasonable to expect a little more direct response from him when these issues plague the site.

Shed,

Thanks for your concern. First of all let me say that I love running GPokr. It's incredibly rewarding to build software that thousands of people use every day. The downside is that I cannot spend my full time work hours running it. Instead I have to be strategic about what to put my time towards. Sometimes this means responding to forum posts, sometimes it means trying to fix a bug, and sometimes it means adding new features. There are things that will be missed.

The server is good. If there is any problem, it is in something that I've coded and I need to find the answer. I've been constantly fixing bugs and responding to "lag" problems. Unfortunately, quite a lot of the time I hear about "lag" I have no idea where to start. I don't know when it happened, what the last user action was, or if any other actions occurred around the lag. Perhaps we should start a thread about lag for people to post the scenario surrounded each event in an effort to pin down the exact bug.

I apologize for not responding enough on the forum. Keep posting here though, I do read all posts.
