It is a happy and historic day here in the United States. There is a 100 year old African American man who got a special seat to watch the inauguration. He said he could die easy now that he was seen this wonderful shift in American politics. It is a dream come true for many people.

YEAH, I can't wait for another election so I can vote for someone because of their race. Apparently, that's all that matters in America. To hell, with values, ideas, experience.

Tod--we have been electing presidents for the last 200+ years based solely on race and gender...ie, white males. Get used to the fact that you will now be judged by your qualifications and not just the pearly white color of your skin. It must be threatening to you or you too would feel some national pride and happiness for the fact that racism is on its way out.

The cat is out of the bag. I didn't vote for Obama. Neither did almost half the country. Don't act like Obama was the only option. Secondly, how is voting for someone because he is black not racist? It is the definition of racism. All you libs with white guilt syndrome need to rethink your position. And if you think somehow racism is now officially over, you are delusional. I've got news for you, racism is an international sport. It is NOT unique to the USA. Do some research. Read a history book or two.
Qualifications? Give me a break. He is the least qualified president in our nation's history. What does he stand for, besides making speeches that mimick MLK? Who knows? He never casts votes on tough issues. He might have to take a stand or show some courage. As president he won't be able to puss out .... or maybe he will. The world will see how gutless he is. He and the democratic controlled congress will be ushering in a socialist era that will keep us all poor and unsafe from our enemies. Illegal immigrants and terrorist... you've just been given the green light. America is singing kumbaya because we have a black prez. Everyone will start to like us and everything will magically go our way.

In the 20th century alone, charismatic leaders helped eradicate 30 million lives for the terrible crime of thinking the wrong way or being in the wrong ethnic group.
