To Jules- The 'arealgale' travesty

I know Jules you have tried to tidy up the forum, and i'm all for it.

The forum was chaos for a few days (and I was in the middle of it) it became a farce. However lets not forget the ridiculous decision to take 'arealgales' posting abilities away for just saying what most sensible people were thinking. In the end all she did was stick up for a friend.

I think it's pretty appalling that she had to be the scapegoat and the sacrificial lamb. Now because of that she can't play a game that she really enjoyed, because she feels discriminated against.

This issue shouldn't be swept under the rug. I would urge you Jules to look at the ridiculous ban and see sense. I don't want to point the finger but if you hadn't reinstated someones posting ability, this wouldn't have blown up.

FREE JESS!!!!! (arealgale)

p.s- let's not start the argument that happened again here.

I agree and on the issue of who's resposibility of revoking the ban, looking at CG's past indiscriminations, you can see that twice, a ban was lifted by a person other than the person that invoked it.

Very correct lostandfound, its a shame that the opinions of the few outweighs the opinions of the many on gpokr. Anyone with a brain knows arealgale should get her posts back after all this calmed down.

I will also say again you reinstated the CG posting ability jules so you have to be indirectly responsible for some of this. Burying your head in the sand is not something I expected from you. Your name is Julesdogg not Julesostrichh

I agree with Doe Doe. That is, I looked for Jess's supposed offense and could not find anything out of bounds. But, I'm someone that prefers little or no restriction on the freedom of expression. Further, if there are rules of conduct, they should applied consistently. My sense of this is that there are a group of well-meaning volunteers who try their best to reduce chaos, but end up appearing arbitrary and capricious. Show us the forbidden language Jess used so no one dares to repeat it. How about a George Carlinesque "7 Things You Can't Say on GPOKR" ? I say free Jess and let us all examine the "evidence" of her "crime".

to womble:- i think if one mod is to overule anothers decision they should at the very least discuss it with them, if it was opi who banned jess then its him we should apeal to and hope we get jules on side, i agree mods should not opperate independently, but on the same note you can't have mods changing other mods decisions willy nilly.
FREE the GPOKR ONE!!! all who read this change your avitar untill justice is done

Very recently one or two problems did occur when a mod reversed another mods decision.I was inpart to blame for this over a decision I made. It is for this reason that I wont be going over the top of another mod without prior discussion and express consent.

To avoid future conflicts, mods now have a space where opinions and current topics can be aired. This allows the modding community to act with one voice. People need to understand that the whole moderator thing is fairly new and developing in an organic way.

All the mods actually care about gpokr and do what they can, limited as it is, to improve rather than detract from the site. It's still early days, but we are working as a team to constantly improve the process.

Many recent forum posts have suggested that many of you have a strong interest in how the site is run and how moderators act. So keep the constructive criticism coming as it is always very welcome.

For any of you who feel you would like to be involved in moderating please talk to a mod about it or email Ryan.

For the record; Yes, I restored CGs posting ability, though as said before, it was not my decision. The instruction to do so came directly from Ryan.

The modding community are currently in discussion regarding arealgale's and country girl's post ban. A group decision will be reached shortly.
