Sorry to say. But I have to agree and say yes, Anybody in there right mind can see that certain seats during the day are the best. next time you sit at a table, pay attention to the guy or gal sitting there with 75000 in chips and everyone else barely 2500 or less. Been there, done that. No worries though. I'm just here to have fun.

Rigged in what way? Rigged for action, rigged in favour of a particular seat, rigged in favour of a particular player?

Rigged how?

Because it's not rigged in his favour.

I love how you ask if it's rigged, yes or no, and when someone simply answers, as requested I might add, you call him a "melt" and a "fuck tard".
Are you just looking for people to side with you? So that you feel better? Or looking for a chance to insult people in your naivety?
As a regular poker player, (every Tuesday night in my place :)) and a long time member of gpokr, I would say that the likelihood of a diamond flush 5 hands in a row is highly unlikely, but not impossible.
I have never seen it in real life and I have in gpokr, but that does not imply or suggest it's rigged.
The odds of a coin that lands heads, landing on heads again is 50/50, and when it is flicked again, the odds are still 50/50, however unlikely, it does not mean the coin toss is rigged.
In computing, there is no such thing as "Random", there is a formula, or function, called "random", but for anything actually random to happen on a computer is impossible.
Random is a function that's called to determine what cards should appear for each player, each river, flop, etc.
Some of these are based on system time, to my knowledge the most accurate, or "random", method of "Random" number generating is this.
This means that when the "Random" function is called, when a new hand is dealt to the table for example, the system time is requested, e.g.; 16/09/2012 02:08;24. This number is usually counted to the nanosecond, which then is used to determine the cards are the players receive.
NOTE: I do not know how gpokr is programmed, I am simply speaking from my own programming experience.
Considering that at any given moment there are 20+ tables, with a minimum of 3+ players, and a choice of only 52 cards, the likelihood of a major recurrence is, let's say 60/52? Which is 1.153846154/1, so every card that is dealt, has a minimum, (MINIMUM!!!!) chance of repeating the following hand, river, etc.

As regards the potential cheating aspect of having a turn or river card suit a particular player, the amount of programming and ridiculous time consuming variables in order to "river" someone, for me, is inconceivable. But if Ryan has gone to the trouble of making sure that every 3rd river card beats the full house, or whatever example you like, I would like to mention that you pay nothing to use his site, and you are under no obligation to use his site, so make like the default avatar and smile :), or go away, either would be great :)

Spa, nice post, thanks for explaining how 'random' works with computers, very interesting.

Had a look at wiki and this page verifies what spa has already said.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Random_number_generation

I too have always thought that for Ryan and his pals to 'rig' the outcomes it would be a huge and time consuming tasks with no obvious motivation to do so.

When we sit and see many, many hands we all see weird shit from time to time. Weird deals, flops, turns and rivers also happen in live play but less often because the hands per hour is much less than online. On youtube you can find lots of examples of 'cold decks' and strange flops and rivers. I remember seeing one guy bust out of the WSOP main event holding quad aces, his opponent had a royal flush on the river. Jennifer Harman (great player) took a huge hit at the WSOP ME when her full house got rivered to a straight flush. In another live game AA, KK, QQ and 55 all got dealt at the same time (search for cold deck on youtube).

So to all the doubters go check all that 'rigged for action' stuff at prestigious live games that are televised and available on youtube and while you're doing so ask yourself whether Ryan could really be bothered to put in hours and hours of hard work to intentionally fuck things up. After all who would benefit, there is no rake, no money and therefore no motivation to do so.

That sounds like an explanation, But answer me this: I have JJ vs 4,5 spades i raise 10x the blinds, he calls then the flop comes out in .5 of a second 2spades, 8 hearts, 10 spades, I raise 80% of my stack and he calls........then the magic happens a longggg 3 second pauseee before the turn and guess what Queen spades. I go all in , he calls and then the river (7 hearts) comes out in 1/1000000 of second. hand over I lose! why? because it searched for the card to allow the underdog to win on the turn, recognized the card and ended the hand quickly as possible. RIGGED end of story
