For those who think this site is rigged.Do you guys also go and paste your hands on the wall when you get beat in a real cash game?Do you cry all the way out the door that some1 called with a cheap hand and you got beat? We've all seen it before and continue to see it so why do you waste time and space to paste your embarassements on the forum? You would never call a real cash game rigged ,fixed or setup but you would say it about any online poker site. Why is that?

I love how all the people who think the site is rigged can barely form a cohesive sentence. That alone speaks volumes.

I have to say I think this site is rigged. It doesn't stop me from playing or enjoying it, but I still have my suspicions. I play regularly for real and never see the kind of show down shit I see here. Nor do I see major hands with the regularity I see them on this site; Royal Flushes for example. Never seen one elsewhere, seen 5 on this site one of them in my hand, one, all 5 cards on the table. I've had amazing runs here, one of which included 3 full houses, 2 flushes and a straight in 10 hands and had ridiculous runs of bad luck also. Bad beats; yep, but also too often by players in the top 100 aggresively betting into the pot with shit and hitting on the river. Oh and I've played some abysmal poker and been beaten fair and square by better players. Still think its rigged though...Coherent enough for you....

Kudos for Johnjo. You managed cohesiveness. Which is a rare thing here. And since you've taken the time

The next hurdle is to try some evidence that surpasses anecdotal. Ryan has discussed the methods, the codes. It's not like generating random numbers is a mysterious dark art in computing.

Put some numbers out and prove this is rigged.

I've played at least 30,000 hands here on Gpokr. I've seen about 8 straight flushes. I've had 3 myself.

The odds of a straight flush with 7 cards are about 1 in 3200. (as opposed to ~1 in 65,000) with 5 cards. I would assume that the odds are better if you fold all the crap pockets you might have. Based on these odds and the number of hands I've seen a total of 8 straight flushes observed is well with in the natural laws of probability and maybe undershooting the idealized odds.

I'm not a statistician. Feel free to argue the worth of these numbers, with data please.

Noddin, you're numbers are right, but even with 7 cards the odds on a royal flush are 30000 to 1 approx. Admittedly, those odds probably apply to just me hitting so with nine players on the go maybe I would see more, 5 in 20000 hands however, I'm really not sure of.
Is it ridiculous to assume that Ryan has gone way out his way to program a insanely complicated alogrithm that promotes showdowns or weights the cards in the favour of ranked players? I suppose it is.
Random number generation is difficult enough right. If it was worth while though, could it be done. The answer is yes. Can I prove it with data ...no, but it suits me to think that the site is rigged because when I play for real and hit a straight on the turn, I'm not waiting for the inevitable full house or flush from some smarmy bawbag betting into the pot against the odds out of position with fuck all.
I was playing this week on gpokr scraping the barrel(as usual) and went all in with pocket Jacks and hit a straight on the turn. Nothing else on the board when the river arrives, Jack high St8 2 Jacks in my hand, 4 other players all in with me, laughably, 2 preflop. I thought lovely back to the mid tables for meeee. Cards over... the 2 all inners preflop both had J x. The other 2 had 2 pair, paired with single cards on the table ...4 Jacks, 3 straights and 4 pairs shared between 15 cards. The 2 J xs were out position heavy stacks on a lower table and first to act, the lads holding the 2 pairs were low end players with slightly higher stacks than the Jacks the higher end of the 2 took the side(obviously). 3 way split and still scraping the barrel. Make of this what you will and I suppose this could be described, after a fashion, as a bad beat but the reality is that this kind of nonsense happens all the time here. Lump it or lump it, the cards just don't fall right and that goes the same for when I'm winning.....Still fun though.
